Seeing Joe being accompanied by his agent, Warren Zavala, to the Oscars last night, I remembered a quote I meant to post ages ago. 
It’s from the Men’s Health profile on Joe, where he talked about his reasons for taking a break from acting in the early 2000s and what motivated him to come back to it: 

Around that time, he received a call from a young, hungry junior agent named Warren Zavala. The agent had admired Gordon-Levitt’s performance as an angry teen in the 2001 indie drama Manic opposite a then-unknown Zooey Deschanel. “I told him, ‘You don’t have to exploit yourself to have a long and meaningful career,’” says Zavala. He is still Gordon-Levitt’s agent. [x]
